The Surat Basin is an extensively explored region with over 200 wells and 5,000 kilometres of seismic data, revealing a substantial natural gas reserve estimated at over 10 trillion cubic feet. Our Surat Basin portfolio encompasses three key gas fields with stacked Permian to Jurassic reservoirs, including Kincora, Myall Creek and Parknook fields. Through rigorous exploration and appraisal, we have identified substantial gas resources and an established robust production infrastructure.
The Kincora field produced its first gas in 1978, and since then the Kincora Gas Plant has been a reliable source of gas, LPG, and condensate, whilst also supporting the development of several oil fields. In addition to the Kincora Gas Plant, our infrastructure also includes the pipeline infrastructure, and the Newstead Gas Storage Facility, which enhances our capacity for efficient resource management.
